• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

So I know iMovie won't let me cut certain portions of video out of a movie and I couldn't find Clip Creator 2 but I did find one program called Explicit but that only slips the movie in half everytime. So if there are any other programs anyone knows of to where I can take certain portions of the movie and extract it to use in a presentation that would be great. Thanks.

So, I'm curious why iMovie won't let you cut certain parts out?

Well I didn't think iMovie would let me cut certain parts out. But when I tried to highlight certain parts it would just highlight the whole thing and cut the entire movie out. Not sure if I'm doin it wrong or not just let me know.

To cut a portion out of a clip in iMovie. Place the play head at the beginning of the portion that you want. Then go the the edit drop down menu, and select split video clip at play head. Once this is down position the play at the end of the portion you want. Then repeat the process. You should then have the portion of the clip that you want.
