I signed up on free creditreport.com and they charged me $12 this month, I didn't think they did that so it sucks, but do any of you know how to cancel their service or whatever so I dont get charged again?

Sounds like bait and switch, but not illegal in this case, because it tells you in the small print. If you go to freecreditreport.com again and click on the BBB link and also read the terms & conditions, you will read that it says what you are paying is a membership fee and not for the credit report.

By Federal law, you can get a credit report for free every year. The site to do this is http://www.annualcreditreport.com/, which was set up by the Big 3.

freecreditreport.com is an attempt to capitalize off of the law.

when you sign up, there is a phone number listed somewhere to call and cancel. When I did it some years ago, I saved this number in my phone, and called three days later before they charged my card. I suggest perusing the website to find the number you need to call.

i dont have no mac's
all the canceling info should be on the site or an email sent to you when signing up...and yes there are free credit reports out there, and also a side note, getting your credit checked on a frequent basis actually can effect your credit score

Yeah, I fell for that trick too, but once I realized about the fee I called and they let me cancel no problem. But if you just go to annualcreditreport.com, you can get your credit report for free once a year.
