Does Apple have a simple paint program?

I am looking for a very basic paint program, along the lines of MS Paint that comes with a Windows equiped pc.

I only need to do some minor editing to an image, and photoshop or anything a bit more professional would just be overkill.

You should give GIMP a try, it's a great (also free) image editor.

You can also do some minor editing within iPhoto and Preview.
