Is this possible???

For a final in one of my classes, I am looking at the edits made within a film and how they have rythm. The class is a college math class, and I'm looking at a scene in an action film entitled "Hard Boiled." I want to know if it's possible to rip the scene into an editing program, such as premiere or final cut express, so I can look at the ins and outs of the edits and the exact time of each cut. Since it's an action sequence and it's very fast, I would like to be able to do this without having to use a stop watch and time almost 150 cuts. Plus it would be inaccurate anyway.
