Sigh. It's true, I miss Windows.

I was on my Mac last night, had sent my emails, checked my blog, updated my calendar and with a single mouse click synched my Mac address book and Calendar with my Sony Ericsson K750i... now what?

In the good old days of Windows, the fun was just starting. I could download version 75.6.6.3.8 of my graphics drivers, there were virus definitions to update, firewall tweaks to be made, I could check my ports for intruders, run Windows Defender and kill spyware, defrag the HDD, run Windows update and do a reboot to eek a little extra performance out of the box. I felt like my computer needed me as much as I needed it. I felt like I was important.

Now... my Mac just sits there, working perfectly. It doesn't need me. It just works... all the time. Never needs rebooting, updates itself, never asks for new drivers, doesn't need defragging. I feel so useless, completely unwanted. All I can do is use it. I miss Windows... :eek:neye:

I don't, have to use it at work and hate logging in it takes so long...then waiting for aps to open, god forbid if they are downloading updates while I am trying to work

Yeah, I get to work with Windows at work as well, so I'm continually reminded of the issues. Though I do have a whole IT staff whom I can just open a ticket and have them take care of all that stuff for me.

I had to have my laptop repaired last week...I suggested they replace it with a MAC. They laughed.

I kinda know what you mean lol I think I checked for software updates like 3 times today lol

To make windows run as smoothly as possible I had ccCleaner, spybot, defrag, disk cleanup, anti-virus, adaware, and thats just off the top of my head.

For my mac I have main menu and virus protection (virus barrier, its more for peice of mind lol). Thats it.

I do miss right click though, I forget how to do it on mac, I have the 1 button mouse.

I don't miss windows. I like Macky much better. Boots up way faster and I don't have to wait for it to be ready to go. Macky is ready when I need him...lol

I am a tech at heart and sometimes for real I miss messing with stuff, but when I need to get work and other stuff done though, it's sure nice not to have to mess around with all that! That is one reason I keep a windows machine here, to play games but also to mess around with when I am really bored!

I think it's ctrl+click. Don't hold me to it though. (I have a two button mouse :black: )

I use PC's almost daily, but that's because there are a few apps I have to use on Windows. And buying a 500 MHz PC is less expensive then buying a copy of XP for my Mac. :black:

That's funny. I have used Windows for years and I have always been the "go to" guy for all of my friends and family to fix their computer issues. Just think if Mac ruled the computer world my friends and family would never have needed my "expertise"...lol

If you miss Windows do what I did, install it using bootcamp. That way you have the best of both worlds.
