Is there a set ideal 'postcard' size for e-mailing photos?

If so, what's the easiest way to do it with i-photo.

Cheers.

Do you use Mail? If so, just drag the photo from Finder into your email and then select what size you want it to be. Works perfectly and it's much faster than any manual resizing process could hope to be.

Not Apple Mail, I had problems with that, no I'm still on Hotmail.

Because of my mail problem (the first of many) I had to get the Apple salesman to open this account on this forum for me.

My name is Cameron and his was Ryan, so he thought it would be apt to put the two together, unfortunately robbing me of any chance to think up a cool username.

So can I do it for Hotmail?

I've been using a little program called Resize for years. It's bog simple and will batch resize/ compress folders of images quickly. No need for iPhoto.

You can get it here: http://kstudio.net/re.html

I, myself, can't be arsed manually resizing loads of photos individually.

ImageWell is also a great, free and simple app for resizing. It also does LOTS of other things though, with a really nice, easy to user interface. I can't say enough good things about it. See: http://xtralean.com/IWOverview.html.

Mac OS X Tiger has Automator.

Select some images, right-click (ctrl click), >Automator>Create new Workflow.

The "Scale Images" Item is under the application Preview on the left.

Save it as a plug-in for Finder and scale away.

using iPhoto:

1. Select a picture by double clicking the thumbnail
2. Choose >File >Export
3. Select the scale to size option and type in your desired resolution
4. Click "Export"
5. Save as and click "ok"

use photobucket.com ans then you can resize it and send them links instead of attachments because most email limit the message size. i can't send or receive messages that are 15mb or larger. and when you use attachments 15mb can quickly be filled
