• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

What do I need to turn my movies into DVDs?

I have a few concerts and other stuff I'd like to put on DVD instead of watching on my computer. I have Toast Titanium 8 (which thus far I've only used to burn CDs and backup data onto DVD), plus the DVD stuff that came w/ my macbook. Also my files are .wmv, I'm able to watch them through quicktime but I'm sure I'd need to convert them.

What programs would I need to...
- convert the .wmv files into files that would be best for what I'm trying to do?
- add a menu so i could put multiple movies on one DVD, and add chapters or something that would allow me to skip instead of constantly fastforwarding
- put everything to together and finalize/burn it

any other info or links to sites that could help this mac & DVD noob would be appreciated, thanks!
