Ok, I bought a used G4 Powerbook and I thought I didn't have an airport card so I bought one, opened the machine up and there was one in there. Now I think I'm a real idiot. How do you know if a card is working. I have tried to search for wireless in my area and at work and it says no networks found or something like that. I know there are wireless networks in my area. Where do I turn now.

Have you turned the airport on? If you did, it will pick up any wireless network. Try going to a university campus. In most likeliness there would be a wireless network there.

My MacBook picks up my home wireless network and in the university library as well?
