Basically, I have a free evening (and a very fast broadband connection). Are there any decent Mac games available for download so I can play tonight? I have a Macbook Pro. I like adventures and first person shooters.

You can go to: www.macgamefiles.com
They have demos for Prey, Quake 4, Doom 3 and others. MacGameStore (www.macgamestore.com) allows you to buy and download full versions of other games, but most of the big names are not available for that.

Remember that the forum's rules are against other download services (P2P, torrents).

Here's a good game that I have played for nearly ten years without getting bored with it. It is fast moving, has great bonuses, good sounds and is dead stable. It costs $15 but it has served me well. The screen shots on the site make it look fairly unexciting but the game itself is very compelling.
