• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi, I have a firewire to RCA cable thing, and I was curious how I could use that to have a window previewing what's going throught the RCA's.

I just want to use it to play my gamecube through my mac.

It works in iMovie, but that's a really heavy program. I looked for an option like that in VLC but I couldn't find it. I even tried the preview in iChat, but for some reason it would pick up my "camera", but not show any picture.

Are there any programs that help preview or display what's playing on your camera?

Thanks

You never mentioned what Mac you have.
Anyway, there are ways to achieve this, just do a search on the forum for "EyeTV" and you will find a plethora of helpful threads.

I actually emailed elgato, and asked them if the eyetv worked with what I have, they said no unfortunately.
