The American Flag up there just appeared out of nowhere and I can't get rid of it. I'm patriotic and everything, I just don't want it there.

That's what it says when I click on it.

If anyone could help me remove it that'd be helpful.

Yeah, for some reason the image doesn't show up on Safari (if, that's what you're using). In fact, no image I have ever loaded onto this site has displayed properly on Safari. The two images are screenshots, they just don't show up for some reason on Safari.

It's not the flag that bothered me, it's just that it's an icon that I have no use for.

I actually use it quite often, clicking on it gives you access to the character set (numeric symbols, trademark & copyright, etc.).

I find the international input menu button very useful since I'm studying Japanese and type it a lot. I've never seen an easier way to do this on any other system.

Let me add this question in. Why is it that images I upload onto this site via FireFox won't display when I view them via Safari? They are regular .jpg images but for some reason, Safari just gives me little blue boxes with question marks instead of the pictures I uploaded.

I see nothing in either Safari, Firefox, Shiira, or SunriseBrowser.

Yeah, I don't know whats wrong. I converted the files from .tiff to .jpg on iPhoto right before I uploaded them. Maybe that's the problem?

For those icons in the far right of the menu bar ....

Just press Command as you click on the Flag [ or any of them to be exact ] and pull it from the menu - it disappears in a puff of smoke

OR press Command to reposition the icons ...

I didn't know the name either. It's a pretty interesting feature, I have Weatherbug Lite up there so I can get weather reports in an instant, I can find out how strong my wireless internet signal is, and I can check the status of my battery. I mean for something that serves so many purposes, it is strange that its kind of hard to find out what the name of it is.

I am pretty sure it's the Menubar. All of it. Not sure that the part by the clock has a separate name. I could be wrong.

a) Apple menu
b) Menu bar
c) Finder window
d) Mac OS X desktop
e) Dock
