I tried searching for a topic covering this, but it is an awkward thing to search for. I apologize if this has already been asked.

Is it possible to change the settings for what happens when I shut the screen? I want to be able to hook up external speakers and listen to music, but I would prefer to keep the screen shut.

TIA

Of course, that thread refers to the iBook, which doesn't help me a whole lot.
It does, as all Mac notebooks perform the same when the screen/lid is shut. It really wouldn't make any difference what notebook you have.

Macbook's and Macbook Pro's are designed to be able to run with the lid closed when you hook up external displays and peripherals, so I don't think you would be causing any harm running it that way...

Hmmm...I guess you are right...
