With the different types of Macs all separated into their own sub-forums, it's hard to get a read on exactly how many folks are using which type of Mac.

edit:

My only Mac at the moment is my MBP. However, the siren's song that is the Mac Pro calls to me regularly. I don't really need a desktop for now so I think I'll wait to see what new stuff comes out over the next few months rather than jumping in now just for the sake of getting another Mac.

You might want to add PowerBook to the poll.

My PowerBook G4 is my primary machine which I use the most. My G4 Cube is mainly for music, adium and light tasks.

I use a powerbook too, and a Mac Mini. Love them both, but prefer the powerbook.

I can't be doing with them really and never understood the need to have a portable computer :black:

Maybe it's an American thing - pickup trucks, SUVs and laptops!!

I'm in the UK - I love my portable computing - the ability to take my laptop in the lounge and keep up with Mac-Forums ;) whilst watching 24 :) or to be able to enjoy the sunshine but still speak to a friend on MSN that's in another country or what ever - loads of uses for portable computing - businesses for example - field sales reps - field accountants - Students - portable computing for students can be very useful.

Loads of uses for notebooks/laptops

I voted wrong. I thought it said which do you want most. So I voted Macbook. I really use an iMac most.

I've been using a Mac mini for the last 18 months – my switching machine. I'm going to be buying a new iMac in the next month or so.

My gorgeous iMac G5 ... only one kernel panic so far.... touch wood. And soon a spanking white Macbook. White rocks (hey, no wrong puns to be interpreted here).

I'm in a bit of a quandry; I suppose I use the MacBook slightly more than my G4 iMac and the iMac slightly more than my PowerMac but I don''t want to upset either of them by saying so publicly. ;)

Not necessarily, I am in the UK, and as already said, I prefer my Macbook.

I need a laptop because I spend 90 per cent of my life in bed, so I can't necessarily have an iMac stuck on my bed. I Have a bed tray and a USB lamp and it is great to be able to sit in bed and compute, otherwise I would be struggling.

The Mac Mini is downstairs, so when I can get downstairs I have a small setup ready if needed. I would not be without a laptop though, even if I didn't have to be bed bound.

They are great to take on holidays to watch DVD's and the like, and good on a flight. You can also set them up in-car for entertainment. Portable computing has many, many uses! :D

35 votes out of 12,000 members. What is this, an off-year election?
