DVD player on my powerbook G4

I got this G4 with the spec here below.
bought it in the states and just moved with it to europe.
Every time i want it to read a Euro dvd(code 2) it has to switch from code 1(US standart) to code 2 and vice versa.
the catch is that the computer tells me that i can only switch 5 times total and after that it'll stay in the last code used!!??=drag.
anybody knows what's going on?
Can i download a software that allows me to read euro and US dvd's?
