In another thread, someone said

"As I type this, I am about 3 feet away from the Macbook Pro, reclining in my chair. I've turned on magnification so I can easily see my monitor from this distance."

What is this magnification that they are mentioning? I assume that this is not just the dock magnification, but something to actualy enlarge the screen.

I'd hazard a guess that they are using Zoom which can be found at:

System Preferences>Universal Access>Seeing>Zoom

To toggle Zoom on/off, press the key combo of:

Command+Option+8

To zoom in .... Command + Option + =
To zoom out ... Command + Option + -

If you have a mighty mouse with the tiny scroll button you can also press Control and roll the ball forward/backward to zoom in/out.

On my macbook I have it set to work with the apple button and two fingers on the track pad. Turn on the function buy pressing command+Option+8 or go to accessibility options.

Then go to mouse preferences and set the two finger zoom.

Mac Pro 8x3.0ghz 12gb ram 8800GT , MBP 2.16 2GB Ram 17 inch.
It defaults to control and 2 fingers. Apple works to if you like that better, I'm just to lazy to change things.
