Telewest (UK) were re-branded today to VirginMedia

I've been wondering whether this would mean a dramatic downturn with its services. I've been hearing rumors that Virgin were going to bring download limits to our beloved uncapped Broadband. So, I've just checked out what I changes they've made.

I WAS paying £105 p/m for basic free evening & weekend calls phone package, 2 Meg uncapped broadband, and full HDTV (inc sports and movies) package with HDD recorder.

I NOW pay £85 p/m for top unlimited free calls phone package (inc heavily-discounted international and mobile calling rates), 10 Meg uncapped broadband, and full HDTV package with HDD recorder... AND 2nd TV connection in separate room with separate Set Top (nonHD) box!

SO... I'm paying £20 less with upgraded and better services!!

It's funny. Last night I was considering swapping to Sky for all 3 services unless the Telewest re-branding yielded any goodies!

So, I can heartily recommend VirginMedia to all UK members!

It would be hard to see a dramatic downturn on Telewest's total imcompetence.

I took out the 4 for £40 option, taking on the mobile phone sim with 300 minutes and 300 texts per month for £10. Gotta be a deal. (I'll be leaving Orange, who've been about as good as Telewest.)
