The easiest way is to reinstall the OS on the new MacBook and it will ask you at some point if you want to copy everything over from another Mac, you need a firewire cable.

Just follow the on-screen instructions and make sure you either use the disc utility to format the new machines hard drive or choose the clean install option. (it's probably not called that but you get my meaning)

You can run Migration assistant, and it will bring over your user account.

For applications, you can transfer them over*, or redownload/reinstall them.

*Using a portable HD, network, or Target Firewire mode

Target Firewire mode will boot the computer up, and it will act as a firewire drive. Not sure about Intel machines, but restart, and hold down T.

Well everything ran fine. It said I might have to re-install a few things, but they were my Microsoft keyboard and mouse :p

Anyway there were a few ?'s in the dock, but I just went and clicked on them and they found the programs.

Anyway, all in all, good experience.
