Quitting Yahoo

Ok I have Yahoo widet running but it doesn't seem to be working right & I want to get rid of it. I have tried to close the Yahoo app in the application folder but I can't get it to open or close . I have tried to put it into trash but it won't go in there because it says that it is still running. I have tried to close the widget that I have on my desktop but it won't do anything at all. Even when I click on with the control key down. Anyone with some ideas ??

I assume you mean the yahoo messenger?

Try checking activity monitor for any processes called 'Yahoo', quit them and try trashing it again.

Thanks I finally got it to quit. I had a weather widget on my desktop that I wanted to get rid of & your tip did the trick. Still learning here.
