Windows Media Audio (WMA) is a proprietary compressed audio file format developed by Microsoft. It was initially intended to be a competitor to the popular MP3 format. from Wiki.

There is something called flip4mac which should help you out: flip4mac.

Also if you want a little more info on getting WMA and WMV files playing in OS X, there are loads of existing threads with similar questions. Some have info on converting the file types to something more 'mac friendly' or just other suggestions for playing those files.

Hope that helps.
