imac?

I will be a switcher most likely early summer of this year, and I am still at odds with myself about which machine to get. I'm leaning toward the 24 inch iMac, putting 3 gigs of ram in myself. A great step up from the 512 mb Windows XP box that I use now.

What I need it for:
Web/Simple Web Dev
Watch/Edit movies
Photoshop/other Adobe apps
Gaming, in particular: Half-Life 2 and other steam games
Basic audio recording
Instant Messenging

I would like to know if anyone could tell me if the iMac would be a good buy.

Also, I am curious as to language support. Would I be able to use applications, type and send IMs in other languages without changing the language of the OS, specifically Japanese and Spanish?

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't answer your language related question, but the iMac would be great for what you want to do above. :black:

I just got my 20' imac 2 days ago & I couldn't be happier. The thing looks like a big screen tv compared to my 19 Lcd monitor that I had before. It is so clear. Best buy that I have ever made.
