    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.

I ripped a movie with handbrake, It is now in mp4. Can I make a dvd(for home dvd player use) using a burn folder, or do I need something else? I know I can use Idvd but I want to avoid all the other steps. Can a burn folder do the trick?

Thanks

I would have gone through trial and error, but I only have 1 blank dvd and I don't want to waste it.

I'm not 100% sure kilo15, but if you only added the video_ts and audio_ts folders, then it might just work.

The problem is that your DVD player won't recognise the files if they are inside a parent folder.

If you pop a DVD in and when the disc mounts, drag the vid_ts/aud_ts folders to the disc icon, then drag the dvd icon towards the trash, the trash turns into a burn icon and it should then start to burn the files to the DVD.

Woah that's a sweet way of burning stuff. But blank discs don't mount to my desktop?!

EDIT: Oh, I had set OS X to ignore blank discs. Greaaat.
