700p, Mail, and GMail

I recently switched to the macbook. I have the treo 700p and a gmail account. I also use mail or entourage (I haven't decided which I like better). If I download my mail with versamail on the treo and then try to download it to mac mail, it won't dl to mail on the mac. However, it will still be listed in the gmail account. Any ideas on how to fix this? I am constanly on the go so need my email in both spots.

If you haven't already -

Check your Gmail settings (Settings > Forwarding and POP), specifically "2. When messages are accessed with POP".

Select "keep Gmail's copy in Inbox".

Yeah, you need to somehow make sure that your e-mail is not being "marked as read" when Versamail accesses/downloads it.
