which type of DVD's?

I read somewhere that Mac use a certain type of DVD is it DVD-R or DVD+R? Or am I completely crazy, and it takes all kinds of DVD's..

It depends on the drive in your machine. Some are only DVD-R I believe. Post back with more info on your machine, and I can tell you for sure.

If you want the best brand of DVD±Rs, I would highly recommend Verbatim DVD±Rs.

I just ordered a 24" iMac with the super drive. It will be here tuesday:)

OK, it can use DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-R DL.

So you are fine with any media as long as its not DVD+R DL, DL meaning dual layer.

My Mac takes both.

To watch movies/shows from burnt discs, my DVD Player/Recorder prefers DVD-R discs. And when recording normal TV, it prefers DVD+R disks.

I think it's time I bought a new one.

I would suggest getting DVD-R as it has been shown statistically to be supported by far more devices than DVD+R. It's somewhere in the range of more than 10%, which is pretty significant to me.

I've always bought DVD-R, a habit I picked up after a friend got some DVD+R to use in his iMac G4 a few years ago and they wouldn't work
