New user DVD edit question

So I have had this shiny new 20" iMac for about 6 weeks now and have been well pleased. I started messing around with Handbrake and am amazed with the results. Here is what I need to do now. I would like to rip a DVD and just lift a coule of scenes to be used in a presentation. I might just put the finished product on my ipod and hook it into a projector, or I can burn it to DVD.

You do realise thats illegal?

Anyway once you have ripped it, import to imovie and delete the bits you dont want!
