Hey :)

This could be a long winded post/thread so get your self comfortable :dive:

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-

What i want to do:

I want to stream music from my desktop PC (or Macbook - Either/or) and play it in other rooms in real time. (bedroom to living room)

What i currently understand:

Apple have a device where it will receive media from iTunes and relay it to any powered output device (perfect)

Outstanding questions:

Can someone please write me a list of EVERYTHING i will need e.g

The exact item needed to stream the music

What set of speakers/poweramp are best used for this sort of situation

Any extra cabling needed to acheive this (even though its ment to be wireless ;) )

They dont need to be loud but will need to sound fairly good.

I hope ive included enough info in the post, if not just let me know!

Thanks guys!!

I can't answer your whole question, but can answer parts.

You can use an Airport express base-station to receive at the remote location. With this you can control the volume directly from iTunes on your Mac and/or from the speakers themselves.

You have multiple speaker options ranging from computer speakers to real stereo speakers. The stereo speakers will require a stereo to hook them to, the computer speakers will simply plug into the AP Express.

Or you can buy something like the Soundcast system. You'll get no interference from anything and you can stream from your iPod or Mac to any set of speakers in the house. I have this, and it works quite well.
