powerbook al svideo in or a/v cable in?

I have a g4 powerbook with an svideo port. I remember I could connect my old ibook to connect to a mini-dv camera with either the svideo cable or there was an a/v cable that went strait in. is there a way to use the svideo port to view through, or the contents of, a digital camera?

already googled for 30 min and havent found anything useful yet

I'm not 100% sure what you are talking about but I would just use firewire to veiw you camera on their. Svideo on the powerbook I think is an output only so it would make it impossible to imput from their
