• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I created a simple DVD using iDVD. Made a couple of changes to the movie and reburned it. But know when I try and play the DVD on a PC using either Windows Media Player or Real Player the menu hightlight shifts? to explain in a bit more detail:

When you hover over the word 'Play', instead of it turning yellow, the word 'Play' appears in yellow but a good 3cm to the left. This is the same for all the menu options.

Of course it's fine on a Mac but some of my clients will want to watch the film on their PC laptops. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Have you tested this on someone elses PC to see if this unusual behaviour is constant?

Thanks for asking, it was playing on two other PC's that highlighted the problem. These PC's played the original version fine but my second version has inherited this field shifting.

I have been told by a friend the solution is to recreate the DVD from scratch. Boring!
