Okay, I guess some one who has been a member at Mac Forums for a decent amount of should post this, but I'll do it for the mean time.

Mac Forums now has 10,000 members as of November 28, 20006. :D
I am happy that the forums have gotten this far, and has also helped so many new and experienced mac users/ people who are thinking about switching.

I understand if this gets locked/delted as I have only been part of the forums for 2 months and therefore may not be worthy of addressing this great event. Also this might be in the wrong forum (actually I know it it) but I cannot post in the community forum.

Also, this would be better off in community announcements if any one would move it there. (see above)

And the best part is, that's 10,000 active members. We go through each month and delete any dormant user accounts so those that are left are truly contributers here.

While a few other boards may look like they have more members, in reality they don't, they just don't prune their accounts. We'd probably have about 30,000 if we didn't do that :).

Thanks to everyone here for helping to make Mac-Forums such a great place and keep spreading the word to help us reach 20,000!

Is there any way to tell who the 10,000th member is?
They should get some kind of mention, surely?

Look at the member lists, and sort by "join date" I think that will work.

10,000 members, that is a good number to hit especially when the rolls are actively pruned.

hey schweb, how old is Mac Forums, BTW?

Just for full disclosure....

A few days ago we did have 10,700 members. Then I pruned (hadn't done it for a few months) and we went back to 9,800. A few days later we were past 10,000 again. :)

Aren't y'all celebrating a little prematurely?? I mean, that's big news and all...but let's show a little patience here!
