Hi. I am an extreme newbie who has no affinity for computers. Please don't confuse me with a troll. I know how to click on the mouse, but what are the two buttons on either side for? What is the top "spotlight" button for?

Assuming you have a apple mighty mouse (White, with a grey scroller in the middle) the left hand side click (And right, if you haven't changed the settings in your system) is so you can choose an application window of which you have open.

The spotlight is to search for things on your machine.
