Apple ID and .Mac

If I already have an Apple ID, and I would love for the same name as my .Mac account I will be getting in about a month. Is there any way to transfer the Apple ID to .Mac, or can I just enter the .Mac name as DavisCollins, same as my Apple ID, and none will be the wiser?
ex.

Apple ID: DavisCollins

.Mac Account: DavisCollins


Is this possible?

you can change that in your Apple ID preferences. The Apple ID is just your e-mail address.

What exatly am I changing...? :bomb:

Goto http://myinfo.apple.com. Log in, choose Apple Id, and make the change.

THANKS! I figured out you have to edit it in MyInfo and not in the Discussions settings. Now my Apple ID is WDC619. Im looking forward to .Mac!
