First off, why do you want/need to format? (curious)

i dont have no mac's
i have a virus...

no
you are wrong
you do not have a virus
what makes you think os x has a virus?
-chris

PS. sorry if that is harsh but it is the most likely story

if you really want to reformat your HD you insert your original install disk, boot while holding down, "C", and then select disk utility from the menubar, and then select the section of it to format. you will then need to reinstall your os from the same disk

What is telling you that you have a virus on your Mac? What Mac is it and what version of Mac OS?

aiite i dont know if its really a virus....but in this other threads it was sounding like it was...
when i go to www.sendspace.com to download, an ad pops up for "drive cleaner" and i says i have pornogrpahic images on my computer that can indanger my marriage, work blah blah blah and that my credit card secruity is at risk...then it automaticly runs a check, and says it found 624 pornogrpahic images lmao.
is this for real? or bogus?

You answered your own question: it's an ad.

What you received was bogus. You don't have a virus.

The ads I really love are the ones that bring up a popup window to tell me my Registry has a bunch of bad entries and needs to be cleaned immediately: OSX doesn't have a registry.

the only way to really tell you have a virus is with a virus scanner of some sort, but the long story short on that is there are still no real virus threats out the for os x.

normally on a windows pc clicking those ads will give you viruses and malware/spyware/adware etcetcetc....on osx that is not the case.

either way you might want to enable your popup blocker in safari...go to safari drop down menu and select disable popups
or i believe it is in system preferences in firefox

You tell us. :)

Seriously, unless you downloaded it, it's probably not there.

So, no virus TOOK.... You can breathe easy now, and ignore those popup ads, even the "fart button - press me" ones....
