• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I was just editing this movie for a couple hours and iMovie "closed unexpectedly" out of nowhere, I hadn't saved my work yet ( :( ) and was going crazy until I tried to reopen it, and the "iMovie trash" poped up. I saw all the clips in there, but I can't do anything with them!!

I guess you're supposed to drag them, but they don't move! I can't do anything with them. Please help me!!

Can you do a 'Get Info' on one of the trashed clips and see if the permissions have changed?

I can't right click and there is no menu options that say "Get Info"

The only things I can do in the trash window is "Delete selected clip" or "Empty trash"

Ugh :(

Aha! I got it.

If anyone else is having this problem, just close all other open programs. I had iTunes and Safari open and I couldn't drag the clips. When I closed both of those and just opened iMovie alone, it worked fine. THANK GOD!!
