iTunes Movies, iTV & Digital Movie Collection

Hi,

I want to start to copy the DVD's I own onto an external HD so I can have everything ready for the launch of iTV & iTunes Movies. Can anyone help me by reccomending a program to rip the DVD's and which format to rip to? ie. AVI/MPG etc..

Also, how will importing your movies into iTunes work? :headphone
