As a long term nixer I can probably give loads of tips on doing things with the command line in OSX, would a forum dedicated to such information be a useful addition?

For example someone asked about free compression tools when such a facility is built into OSX in the guise of gzip.

To see if you have it just type "gzip -h" in a terminal window (it may have come with the developer tools).

Well there are two forums already OS X and the Darwin one, but beginners or OS9 upgraders may not go there as a first recourse.

Maybe those two forums need to be amalgamated and named in such a way that it is blatently obvious that they contain some useful info?
