• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Well as Im guessing many of you have seen, Im going to be building a new studio in my basement. I made sure I put a lot of thought into what I was going to buy and I think I have my final shopping list put together. If anyone cares, LOL.

Refurb iMac 20" 2.16 Core2Duo, 1GB ram, 250HDD, Super etc - $1299.00
2GB (2X1gb) memory upgrade from newegg - $208.00

That would save me the 175 from apple memory upgrade and I'll have some 512MB sticks to sell somewhere.

Behringer MS40 Digital Monitor (40 Watts) -$129.99

Nady SP1 Microphone and Stand Package (mic, stand and 20' cable)- $19.99
MXL MXLV63M Condenser Studio Microphone with Shockmount - $99.99
Evolution MK-449C MIDI Controller - $119.99

Sound absortion foam for the walls - $108.00

I think this stuff will get my studio well equip'd for now.. In case anyone is wondering I'd be doing a lot of vocal recording, singing and voice overs.

Cool. I just bought those behringers and they're great for the price. I've got a little mixer that I use as well. Tell me how that condenser mic goes I'm looking at getting one. What audio interface are you going to use?

For now I have an M-Audio Quatro USB interface that is connected to a Behringer 4 channel mixer.. But I probably after everything else is setup I'll get a Alesys firewire 8 channel mixer. This way it will get rid of 1 box and I'd be able to record the channels to individual tracks.
