• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

first .. I Imported a 45min video from a camera..and I wanted to create a DVD from it.. i used Imovie and then I "exported" it to Idvd...that worked..
in the creation processes...it converted the whole movie (i guess compressed it) and then when it got to the audio it freezes up.

repeated this only using idvd with the option of importing and creating a dvd in one deal...and it freezed up again on the audio section..after the video had been prepared for burning..

I Just a new MBP, w/ all the bells...

Please enlighten me.! :dive:

This is a glitch in iLife '06.

It's not actually hanging up, it just looks like it is. If you leave it overnight, you'll wake up to find a burned DVD sticking out of the machine.

....furthermore, why is the preparatation for the audio problematic...it seems like that would be less problem prone to the video

You don't have to wait over night. You just have to be patience. I thought the same thing when first experienced it. I tried it again and went to dinner, when I can back the burner was in the process of burning the DVD.
