• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Im so confused. I have an old school Samsung SCL906 8MM camcorder. Is there any way i can convert it to digital to my Imac G5 (non intel duo)? Like if I record video on it, how would I put it on my computer (to later load on the web, i know that part already )
Thanks!

You need an Analog to Digital converter.

Give that a search in Google and you'll get a lot of hits, but I have the Pyro A/V and it works great for around $175.

THANKS!

1 more ?, when i do that, how would I go about loading in on to my computer itself(forgot to ask in previous post), would I go to iMovie? Or would it read it automaticly with the pyro a/v software? Then load it on its own? And how would i set apart clips since its coming from 8mm and not a digi?

Sorry if my questions are dumb, im noob! lol

Thanks!

When you hook the AV converter up to the computer and the playsource, you use iMovie to import it. The converter uses no software.
