No sound on YOutube

I have been bothered by this for quite some time, and no forum has yet helped me to get sound out of YOUTUBE. The usual suggestion - MIDI - AUDIO - set up to 44 ... is not working for me. My settings seem fine. The other common suggestion - sth to do with GARAGEBAND - puzzles me. I do not think I have GARAGEBAND .. have looked for it, but no, don't have it. Please help.

Yes, of course. I have been playing with the volume slide, but it made no difference.

Did sound on YouTube ever work on your G4 Powermac? The GarageBand suggestion works with certain problems.

Have you ever ran an Audio Editor on your Mac called Audacity? Running that will leave certain sounds disabled.
