Hi **.

Got my new macbook a week ago. Its a 2ghz model, 512mb ram and 60gb hdd.

Its running rather......chuggingly? Some programs just take forever to open. It drops programs often and never shuts down properly.

I'll go to shut it down and it will then start shutting down.....but stops and stays on a blank desktop forever. Has to be turned off by holding down power key.

I've been told I could do with some more ram, and in the next few months I'll be chucking 2GB in along with a bigger HDD if possible.

Any advice, tips, pointers would be very much appreciated.

Cheers.

P.S - Anybody got a good replacement for itunes, I hated it under windows and hate it under OS X - would like to use winamp but haven't found any OS X versions.

Cog is okay, give that a look perhaps.

And yes, definitely get some more RAM. A full gig should smooth things out.
