hey
as a side job i do video editing on my windows pc
"You need quicktime pro to convert mpg files to mov files. Then you can author the dvd with iDVD"

I saw this in a post, but wanted most explanation..
my uncle uses vhs tapes still :spook: and i record them to dvd via sony dvdirect.. and transfer them to my pc to edit

how would i go about doing this for a mac?

Thanks Mario

Plug in your digital camcorder, open iMovie and select the material you want to import and edit...

wow.. that is old.

You will need a digitizer or a DV deck allowing pass-through and a vcr.

If this is professional I highly doubt it being vhs, are you sure its not beta cam?

Hey power sorry for the long response,
i guess some people still live with the motive "if it aint broke dont fix it"
but to each its own right?
i would perfer a cam that i can connect with a computer.. but my uncle still uses vhs for some odd reason.
i normally convert the tape straight to dvd with my sony dvdirect.
quick question,
would it be smart record the vhs to dvd and then bring it back into a mac for editing? or would i lose quality?
