so I am using s-video to connect the two, but when I look at the tv there is a wavy lin on the side. I would like to use it to watch movies and what not. what settings do I have to change to get this to work right?

Assuming this isn't just a problem with your TV, it's likely a faulty S-Video cable. When the ground signal isn't clean, it causes weird lines and other issues to arise in the image.
