I'm looking for a cheap way to boost the signal of my guitar to allow me to record it in Garageband. (Evidently the Intel iMacs need a line level input if your using the 'audio in' port.)

Should I use the iBooster which will boost the signal to 'line' level and still put it through the 'audio in' port, or should I get the iMic2 which will run through a USB port? I can get them both at the same price.

Are there any basic positives or negatives using 'Audio in' vs. a USB device?

Until now I was thinking the iMic2 because they infer that you get less noise through a USB device than the 'audio in' port, but Kevriano's thread (http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40723) has got me worried...

Thanks for your help!
