OS 9.0.4 on old iMac

I have an old Bondi Blue rev.2 iMac and cannot upgrade to OS 9.1. Just got a free hp officejet 6110 all-in-one and all the drivers on hp's site are for 9.1 and above. In the past I used Ethernet printer which was LaserWriter8 through the "Chooser". The 6110 is USB printer so I don't know how to try to "fool" my iMac w/ some other similar driver. I don't really know how to set up a USB printer on Mac (it works great w/ my PC but still need to be able to print files) Help!

this iMac finally died!

Tried deleting the post . . . the iMac is dead as a doornail!
