With XP it was Trillian, with Linux it as GAIM. Does Mac have a program that will allow access to all the IM programs? I have friends on each one. Thanks in advance.

AdiumX is my reccomendation as well. It uses gaim-core so if you're familiar with gaim, it will interest you to know that the exact same codebase is used for the under-the-hood protocol stuff.

By the way, the official link is http://www.adiumx.com/

Thanks for the help and the link - installed it and it works great. Familiar territory since I have used GAIM in the past.

I always really enjoyed Proteus and it is being resurrected from the dead. Worth watching.

Ditto on Proteus. Am also keeping my eyes open to see what they do with it.

AdiumX is great in the mean time.

Anybody have any experience with the beta's of Proteus so far? I would be open to switching but from the looks of the bugs they still acknowledge its got quite a bit of work to go

Is there a way in adium to go back and forth between tabbed convos using the keyboard? Also...Is there a way to take of the spell check aswell. It really annoys me when I use my digital lingo and it's basically telling me i'm retarded with a red line because i spell your, ur online.

thanks

I think Adium uses command+left cursor / right cursor to switch between conversations.

And try right-clicking the text box and see if you get a 'spelling' menu. In there untick the 'check spelling as I type' field.

( I don't have Adium on here atm, as I've rather taken a fancy to iChat since I discovered it works with ICQ as well as AIM & Jabber).
