I am using a LaCie d2 Hard Drive Extreme on my imac g4. My problem is the disk will not mount and when it occasionaly does it will un-mount very quickly.
Does anybody know what to do?

Return it to LaCie as defective. Ive seen about 20 of these be just bad products. They're unreliable and HUGELY overpriced.
Build your own in like 4 minutes just buying the parts from newegg.com
As to your specific disk... its the circuit inside more than likely. I looked up in my records how many times ive had bad lacie disks..
problems w/ lacie drives : 19
problems specific to the drives and not computer: 17
problems that were not resolved by wiping drive or partitioning it: 14
those were returned to lacie and they just replaced it. Good for them, but thats A LOT of bad drives, and my understanding is that its not the disk's, but the circuits inside.
