hi, i have an adaptor which i can plug ino my tv from my iBook and i was wondering if there is any way of closing the lid of my iBook when watching as having two screens is a bit distracting. or can this be done with later models such as the MacBook or the Power Book?

It's not advised on the iBook, as it could overheat, as a lot of heat is dispersed through the keyboard area.

The Powerbook, Macbook & Macbook Pro can be used with a closed lid though.

But for your issue: Just dim the screen when you play (Hold F1). That's what I used to do when watching DVD's on a projector with my iBook.
