Can anyone recommend to me some online retailers that sell chargers that can run on the cigaraette lighter things in cars?

I often travel either with the parents or with friends going out to photoshoot locations and it would be handy to have that backup for power :)

Cheers guys

Here is what I use when I need to power anything in my car.

It is also good because you can power anything so if you want to plug something in other then your computer, or a different brand computer in the future, you will always be able to do so.

I use a 300w inverter, that way you can use an extension lead to run or charge something else as well.
You can get these at a decent price from Maplin.
You can get them in 12v and 24v models.

Oh No, PLEASE do NOT DO THIS.
First Using a Modified Sine Wave Inverter is Bad enough. But really really do not use any extension cord with an inverter like this and especially not on a computer. Well maybe a PC if you don't mind ruining it ;) But not on your Mac.
By doing this you are just killing the efficiencies and allowing bad power to stretch more dirty power and making it less efficient. Modified Sine Wave Inverters just do not provide clean power.

If you want to power your Macbook in your car, do it correctly and with clean power. Power My Mac - DC Power for Macbooks www.powermymac.com
