Yeah, that is a bit of a stretch.
Some pros use it for simple demos or a quick mix, but not for any professional, final edit capacity.
GarageBand is good for the at home musician. It is a rather full featured application for being entry level.
depends on what kind of pros your talking about.. audio pros ... no not really.. but video pros (like myself) will use it with sound track pro for a last minute sample beat before final composing and mixing.. just to give an idea to the composer, but then they go ahead and use a logic (apples pro app for audio)
yeah Garageband is basic. Logic is the pro app. However, with Logic, to really be pro, you need to get a boatload of plugins...but Logic already has nice built in plugins.
