Just bought MacBook and Linksys WRT54GS router to hook up to my PC that is running Windows XP. The Airport recognizes the router but will not allow me to get on after entering the correct password.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Do you know what your encryption is set at? I dont know how true this theory is but I heard Macs play better with 64bit encryption rather then 128bit.

Just a thought.

Doesn't make a difference what the encryption is. :black:

Try putting a dollar sign ($) as the first character in your password.... so it would read as "$password".

You can also look at this site for some assistance:

oh my goodness I seriously fiddled wtih Airport and my Encrypted network at home for 3 or 4 hours before i finally read on the apple website that all you ahve to do is put a dollar sign infront of the password. I hate simple fixes to problems that feel monumental...really belittles your intelligence! :eek:neye:

The dollar sign didn't work for me. I have talked to both Linksys and Apple technical support but still am unablr to connect.

Gave up, went back to COMPUSA and swapped it for a Belkin. Works Perfect.
