And it took all of 30 seconds. It took a lot longer to print out the instruction than to actually do it. And of course it worked, since I'm typing this now.
I can't say yet whether it will make a difference, since I didn't think it was slow with 512mb, far from it. 1.5gb should do for anything I'm going to do. Maybe it will make a difference with DVD ripping with Handbrake.
